Paul Parsons AKA DropX
Having been involved in the production of dance music since late
80’s, Paul Parsons AKA DropX has released tracks under a many
different guises over the years such as Scoff Boys, B.S.A. (Big
Sound Association), Naked Ape, Pinhead but to name a few! He soon
became respected throughout Europe
and the rest of the world for solid underground dance music. With
signings from labels EMI, N.E.W.S, Steady Beat, Bonzai, Experience
Grooves, Sub Terranean, React, Feverpitch, etc. it was a sure sign
of some dance music talent.
In 1990 Scoff Records was formed as a platform to release own
material which was a label and record store. This splintered off
in different directions to cater for the expansion of house music.
Oracle records was formed to cater for the harder style house and
Molars records for the slightly more quirky Dutch style house, all
three labels ran for a number of years and gained a respectable
following. After the digital revolution took hold and vinyl sales
took a dive it was time to re think!
After a short break Paul has been signing
tracks under the name of DropX for a couple of years to quality
labels such as Monad Music (Ireland), Bonzai (Belgium),
Polytechnic (US), Hardplace (Canada), Scramble Records (Brazil),
Freaks culture (Germany), Fluxus (UK) and a few others still to
come proving there is still worldwide appeal. DropX is all about a
deep chunky groove, tough cutting synths with some quirky little
noises built in to give you a quality solid progressive house
sound. With years of experience, a new found obsession and his
productions sounding more polished each time, the next few years
will prove DropX is one to watch…
